Sweatson Klank (aka Take) has been a Los Angeles staple in the Electronic/Hip-Hop scene for over a decade. When all is said and done about any developing genres in the area, his name will always be included as one of the spearheads. His production is constantly evolving having avoided labels, as he’s continued to burn his own paths in these California streets.
This latest guest mix from Sweatson Klank is an extention of his newest LP, You, Me, Temporary, a modern day love story told through music. This mix picks up where the album left off, exposing the ongoing cycle of the album’s intense, and often dysfunctional relationship. Click here to download.
Posters from our Hong Kong show will be included in all T-Shirt, Vinyl, and Slipmat orders, while supplies last. www.btsradio.com
The Beat Dimensions compilation pinned a very important time for international beat makers. It may have been the first release of it’s kind to document what had been bubbling in the streets of LA and bedroom studios across the globe. A sound most critics and fans alike couldn’t really put their finger on, was it hip-hop? Many tried coining a name for this “new” genre, and failed. At the end of the day, we just knew we liked it. Curated by DJs, Jay Scarlett and Cinnaman in 2007, Beat Dimensions was a great sketch to help the lister dive into a thriving scene that continues to inspire and evolve to this day.
Previously locked away in our archives, and still loaded with unreleased material, this mix is yet another glowing piece of our history and a look at the experiments of up-and-coming producers who helped define a genre and continue to break the rules. Click here to download.
